Find what changed between versions, then decide what it means

Two versions of a contract, specification or spreadsheet can look almost identical and still contain a change worth investigating. Reading each one from start to finish takes time; finding a difference is only the first step toward understanding its importance.

DiffDocs is a web-based tool for comparing document versions. It highlights additions, deletions, modifications and moved content in visual results that you can review, so you do not have to reconstruct each change by eye.

The tool helps locate changes. It does not decide whether a revised clause, number or sentence is acceptable. The responsibility for interpreting the impact stays with the person reviewing the document.

Spend less time searching for changes and more time reviewing them

Comparison gets harder when sections move, tables change, or a small revision is buried among paragraphs that stayed the same. What matters is not only that two files differ, but where the change happened and what type of change it was.

DiffDocs organizes differences into visual categories for added, modified, deleted and moved content. The colors help focus attention on a particular change before you return to its context.

Use the document formats already present in your work

The current web application supports DOCX, PDF, XLSX and CSV. It can therefore help with narrative documents, technical specifications and tabular records, where even small revisions may deserve review.

Choose the two document versions, submit them for comparison and inspect the visual results in your browser. Different formats require different kinds of human interpretation, and a comparison does not replace checking the original files.

A repeatable workflow, not a one-off AI answer

DiffDocs grew from a specific engineering problem: make comparing document versions a repeatable capability. The workflow brings together file intake, normalization, the comparison engine and a presentation of results that can be reviewed.

A lawyer comparing drafts, an engineer revising specifications and a team examining updated records may need to answer different questions. The common starting point is to locate the differences without losing sight of their context.

What DiffDocs does not decide for you

Finding a difference does not establish its legal significance, technical compliance or business impact. DiffDocs presents changes for review; the person who owns the document still determines what those changes mean.

If you have two versions that need attention, a practical next step is to try the comparison with those files and see how the visual results fit your review process.

Which two versions would you compare first?

Take a current document and an earlier version. Let the comparison identify the visible changes, then use your knowledge of the task to decide which ones matter.
